Limp mode after accelerating to pass
I passed a car and my 2006 4.2 went into limp mode. I turned the car off and on again and it seemed fine. It shifted well and rode fine. It only happens when I accelerate from around 60. I知 just looking to see if you guys have any ideas...I知 having the codes read this weekend so you don稚 have to tell me to do that. Like I said, I知 looking for ideas on what could have caused this to get a gauge on what happened. Any suggestions would be appreciated

So, reading this, it dawns on me, this is what my car was doing before the Trans died Yikes.
I have never owned a car like this, so I thought it was strange that it went to 6th so quickly and did not seem to have to power to accelerate, it always happened going uphill. Thinking about it now, it was trying to downshift and got wigged out.
First off. I knew there were issues with the car when I bought it and got a good deal on it. I was hoping it was just solenoids and an easy fix. The car was right at 100k miles. I did the trans fluid and filter change. The fluid had a few shavings, and the magnets were pretty darn coated. After this, things got worse. I thought It might be the Mechtronix unit and was going to have it rebuilt, but when the guy saw my codes, he told me to save my $$$ for a new Transmission. Double Yikes!!! I had already pulled the unit, and there was quite a bit more shavings and just about as much gunk on the magnets, after only a couple of hundred miles. I will see if I can find his contact information for you. He is super cool.
Fortunately, I found a trans on the east coast with only 96K and a 6 month warranty for $1300.00 + shipping. It took me about a month to actually do the swap in the front yard, on the ground, between other projects. I probably could have done it in a week, if I had had all my ducks in a row.
I now have 650 miles on this trans and only one issue that I do not really know how to explain but will post on it this week.
Good Luck, I hope it does not go this far for you.
Take it easy on the car, until you get it figured out.

Ok everyone, I finally got the scan done and three codes popped up.
P2533
p1624
009988
my friend looked into all of them and said the 009988 one was most likely the problem. It had something to do with the fluid and 5th gear causing it to catch. I’m gonna get a transmission fluid change to see if that will solve it. While I get that done, any other helpful ideas would be appreciated
