Default Maybe the Audi V10 is more rewarding than the BMW V10?

"So why don't these M cars overwhelm us with their power ('cause you're thinking, 500 bhp is a lot of horses, right?) the way, say, a Dodge Viper does? We attribute it to the soft bottom end of the powerband combined with the lack of a real high-rpm rush. "

"Fire either one of these V-10s up and they sound...like complete rubbish, at least at idle; think of the uninspiring, industrial-sounding hum modern turbodiesels make."

Default Additional fuel for the fire...

From Car, March 2006 issue regarding the new S8:

"Fifty brake down it might be, but th S8 is still absurdly rapid for a car of this size. Deceptively rapid, in fact, because so smooth is the engine, so linear the power delivery that it's almost a surprise to see how long it takes the M5 to pull out an advantage when we give both cars their head as we join a deserted dual carriageway."
