Default My misfires

I have a 2011 A8L with 95K miles all original equipment, no mods. This winter when warming up the car I started to hear a bit of muffler-type noise as well as a whistling/whine coming from the engine bay. I never opened the hood to check. Just figured it was cold start kind of thing. My CEL has never come on. There has been no perceived degradation in performance. I have an OBD11 which yielded to Log pasted below.

After reading thru this post, reminiscing on how simple issues (but tough to find) can cause other secondary problems as well as having mechanics change parts (which don't fix the problem but you get charged anyway) and watching some YoutTubes from Deutsche Auto Parts
, I suspect that I have a vacuum issue which is causing things to get out of whack.

WDYT ?

That’s what I’m looking into right now, had the day off so I changed plugs and cleaned everything up in that area. Tried out the Denso Iridium TT plugs that I had good luck with in the past ($45 on Rock Auto for 8). Was thinking about those NGK laser iridium plugs that were mentioned a few replies up, but these were easier to come by. Runs better, but not great yet. I’ve been leaning towards that PRV/PCV thing lately, started another post involving that. Not sure why I started on that path, but funny you posted that YouTube link, gonna watch it after this. Saw another vid where you pull the oil cap while it’s running and there’s a lot of vacuum created where the oil cap is hard to remove and will get sucked back in, it could point to an issue with that PRV. My exhaust has a little “puff” or pop to it when idling and if I pull that cap the exhaust starts sounding like a cammed out drag car and the car starts shaking, plus sounds like a vacuum cleaner in the oil filler hole. Not getting any codes at the moment, so I’ve come to a bit of an impasse.

I just got my A8L back from a trusted mechanic who did an "****" evaluation of the vacuum lines and manifolds, etc. Found some leaks, fixed them and the car runs like a dream again.

That’s good you found one of those mechanics, they’re the best kind. I’m one of them, but most of my training was on Harleys. Bring one to me and you’ll get a perfect running bike back, lol. Did your guy replace any hard parts, or were they just simple fixes he made work? Was he just doing a once over, service, or did you take it to him for a specific issue? I wonder how he discovered the vacuum system issues, like if it’s a good idea to find someone with a smoke tester or if one is even applicable to these systems.
