Default MMI 2G High - iOS 12 - Phonebook

I can't get the phonebook to sync properly with my MMI 2G High and iPhone 6 running iOS 12. The phonebook menu is greyed out, and that's it. Incoming/received calls ARE available. iPhone is set to sync all contacts. I think I tried all possible settings in MMI already, repairing, resetting, etc.

Can anyone confirm their (recent) phones support phonebook in this system?

I have exactly the same problem - I highly suspect that it might take an upgrade to the MMI software to hopefully get it working. I've shied away from upgrading mine in case something goes wrong!

I have iOS 12, and I can browse my phone book through MMI 2G. I haven’t ever had trouble with it syncing. I would suggest updating your MMI software and see if that helps.

That's good news. I'll try going from 5150 to the newest soft then. Was hoping I could avoid it, having read somewhere the process can take up to 3 hours (?).

the 5150 version if or non USA cars only. I should probably look to see where you are, but.....

If you are not at the 4610 level, here is a link to that software.

MMI 4610 update

I'm from Poland. Thanks for the link, sswari. The car's scheduled for a retrofit next Thursday, I guess I'll tell the guys to do the update as a side job.

I recently purchased a 2008. I have previously had a 2005, 2007 and another 2005. All taken out by deer. On all of my previous A6's I had been able to synch the car phonebook, calls etc. with my phone. I had not been able to figure this out on my 2008. Today, I finally tried something new and it worked to get everything synched. I went into the phone setup and did the reset to factory option. Then, when I reconnected to bluetooth, I was asked on the phone if I wanted to allow synching of my phone to the bluetooth connection. I picked yes and then all of my phonebook and call history were there on my car. I don't know if it makes a difference, but somewhere in there, I also went to the setting about memory (I think). It has an option for SIM (phone) and something else. I seem to recall picking the SIM one.
I have to go back out and will double check. I was just trying things and was so happy when it worked. Been fighting with this for a few months now. For what it's worth, the MMI is at 4410. Looks like I'm due for an update there. I've done that before. Hope this helps somebody here.
