Default MMI 46.10 and Phone module upgrade complete

Thanks to Kevin for the <a href="http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/3/13/883667/audi%20telephone%20RVU.pdf">TSB</a>

Mine didn't match the SW and HW versions on the phone module, but after doing the MMI update I decided to run them anyway to try and get rid of the buzzing on dial and occasional failure where I can hear the other party but they can't hear me. I have a BB8830 for reference, running Beta 4.5.101 OS.

I definitely needed to do CD#1 twice as described, with the second pass taking close to an hour. The phone module is dead until you do the 2nd pass.

Made 2 calls afterwards with no buzzing, but I'll give it a couple days.

Thanks to Riverside Audi for the CD.

After dealer upgraded me to 46.10, I still get the buzzing sound on my iPhone 3G occasionally, but seems to be less frequent than before.

46.10 doesn't do anything to the phone module. that's what CD#1 is for.

Default I supposedly had this done last week, but the SA told me I'd have to repair my phone and ...

that the PIN would be reset to default. But when I got the car back, the phone was still paired and my PIN remained intact.

But I've never had any buzzing on the phone, so I wonder if it is even worth asking about when the car goes back in this Friday to replace the windshield washer resevoir.

Do they charge you for the update?

Default Yes, I paid for the CD kit but did the update myself. They'll charge you shop rate if they do it for

you, assuming they're willing to do it at all.

Since it took an hr for me to do it, I wouldn't expect you to be charged more than 2 hrs by a dealer to do the same thing.

They did it specifically for the phone module update, so got that too.

Default Didn't charge me.

In fact, I didn't even ask for it, my SA brought it up. I had previously complained about the iPhone 3G not ringing through the car speakers, but I don't think that was the reason for him bringing it up, although it did fix that problem.

Default true, they shouldn't if you're under warranty, as stated in the TSB. It's also a 'required' update

if your car fits the requirements.
