Default MMI panel and Soy Sauce !

Hello all.
So, my wife had good time with sushi on top of my MMI panel.
It would be fine if it was just Sushi but OFCOURSE there is SOY SAUCE involved !
YES, there are some critical buttons stuck now and even the main rotary doesn't respond to turns, only clicking up and down.
~30% of the functions are now not available.
So, my question ....
(1) Stealership ? How much am I looking at ?
(2) Used one / eBay other sources ? Is it a pain to swap yourself ?

As always, any ideas and input highly appreciated.

I was told the cost is about $1200 part and labor in an audi dealer a few years ago. I always put a towel over those buttons when I drink anything in the car.

If you are mechanically-competent, you can remove the MMI panel and replace or try to clean it up yourself. Here are instructions I found in this forum:
https://www.audiworld.com/how-tos/a/...console-422380

If you know some basic electronics, you can try to clean off the soy sauce from the circuit board and buttons. If cleaning does not make it work, you may need a new MMI Console. ECS Tuning sells them: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...4f1919611nh77/

ok ! Thanks for the links. it seems like something I could manage and hack through. Now my question is the following. I see in eBay they have just the circuit boards for sale. ~$50 ... is there a way to just screw out the circuit board and swap that or is that thing in some encased box ? forcing me to purchase the entire unit (with buttons and top etc all that) you mentioned I could find a way to get in and "clean it", so that thing is open and there is way to clean top of circuit board ?

I replaced the water damaged circuit board of my MMI controller with this one:

Audi Multimedia Keys-E380 Circuit Board (with Navigation)

Shipping does take a while but I was able to live with a black MMI screen and no radio until it arrived. For installation you just follow the instructions someone posted above. It's not hard to disassemble, but it is just a lengthy process. Patience is key, also be sure to keep track of all of the screws you take out and where they go. When you get the unit out I believe you just have to remove some screws and wedge the clips apart until it separates into 2 pieces and you can access the board to swap them. Mine has worked perfectly since installation over two years ago, saved me so much money compared to buying the whole unit.
