MMI Problems..anyone had this problem and found a solution?
I'm having intermittent problems with the MMI system. 3 out of 4 times I drive the car I experience these problems. When listening to FM radio, I randomly hear a beep followed by no sound. 3-5 seconds later, the sound resumes normally. This also happens in XM but without the beep. Additionally, when listening to a CD, I get the same problem, except the CD picks up where it left off. This "silence" can occur every 10 seconds or once every 5 minutes..totally random as far as I can tell.
Strange problem and dealer can't seem to fix it (it's been in twice for this problem). I've had the firmware upgraded (it now downloads address book from Blackberry 8700) but continue to have the same problems. I have video of this problem; if anyone is interested I can email it.
Other than this, I love this car. Just got it 2 months ago and it's my 1st Audi.

The only beep I can think of is the prompt for the voice command...
Do you have voice command on your car? Do you see the mute symbol(a speaker with a slash through it) on the bottom of the MMI screen when this happens? I'm thinking that maybe the voice command is acting up?

Re: The only beep I can think of is the prompt for the voice command...
I do not have voice command installed. Typically, it does not show the mute symbol when this happens. When on XM and this happens, I get the "NOTE" and "Please Wait" screen until it refreshes. For FM, it shows the Dynamic Station List, but it refreshes the list each time after the beep and silence.
Thanks for the feedback!

Do you receive auto messages on your Blackberry? Try turning off the bluetooth on the phone..
It sounds like your handsfree is trying to answer the phone but the phone hangs up before connecting. That's why I asked if you're receiving news/stock/sports alerts on your Blackberry.
If the problem stops while bluetooth is off, you may have to turn off the alerts while in the car if you want to make/receive calls.
Other Blackberry users might have a better answer. I don't have one, just a regular bluetooth phone.

I do not receive auto messages on my Blackberry and this problem still occurs when the phone is not with me and/or bluetooth is off.
