Default Contacted bose about speaker replacement.

So I went to the dealer and they wanted $200 to replace the front door 4.5" speaker for my 1999 A4 with bose stereo. After reading the posts I contacted bose directly and got a hold of a woman named Patty at bose automotive. To replace the speakers for my car they wanted $40 for each speaker. Thought I should pass on the information on where to get replacement speakers.

Here is the number to contact her directly.
508-766-9522.

I have yet to recieve the speaker so not sure about the plastic housing around the speaker. But as soon as the speaker comes in I will update. I also wanted to replace the tweeter at the same time and bose does not have replacement speakers for the tweeeter. The dealer wanted $90. If one knows where to get a tweeter online pleast post.

Seems like different years have different part numbers. I called my local dealer, gave my VIN and my part no for the subwoofer is 4F0035412A. My car is an 05 C6 and when you key in that part number at audiwholesaleparts.com it will only show up under the 2005 A6. The 2006 A6 has a different part number and is about ten bucks cheaper. I would think that parts would be the same...???

Ok, so today i had some time to work on the door panel and look at the sub woofer. To my surprise the whole job from taking the door panel off to putting it back on took 25 min and was pretty easy. I should of done a step by step procedure with pics, and if i get the speaker replaced i will. My problem was that the center plastic cover on the speaker ripped off and was causing the distortion sound. Of course as i took off the door panel, the broken piece came off and the system sounds good now. So i took off the sub woofer and took a picture of the part number on it. Going to call Bose tomorrow to see if it is available and how much. The speaker is held in place by 4 screws and 2 clips for wires, easy to replace.

New to Audia World. Have been lurking for a while now, thought I should join and contribute when I can.

I just had to go through this tonight. Although it appears as though the dust cap is in place on mine, but it has come loose just enough to resonate considerably and very noticeable on bass rich songs. I removed panel and Silicone RTV'd the dust cap and will leave it overnight. Will update here how that fix works.

As far Speaker part numbers, I'm at a loss because it appears even with guys with other '05 A6's, your part numbers are different than mine even! Go figure? Mine is 4F0 035 382A. Hopefully I won't have to actually replace this.

Ebay, I just replaced mine for 65 bucks. Most range from $100-150. Most of them come with the bass box. There is good DIY youtube video out there and took me 30 minutes and couple of beers. Butterknife, Phillips head, and some torque bits.
