New owner of 2005 A6 - Need expert advice on issues!
Hi all! I very recently purchased an old 2005 Audi A6 3.0 A/T. It came with a number of issues which i need expert advice on.
Issue #1: Sometimes it doesn't start and start makes a click.
Issue #1: Sometimes it doesn't start and start makes a click.
- After a few tries, it starts smoothly.
- Battery is full.
- Could it be the starter?
- Has anyone ever encountered this before?
Issue #2: OBD2 scanner cannot read the ECU.- I wanted to connect my OBD2 scanner to read and hopefully erase any false or fixed errors
- It will attempt to connect but eventually fail
Issue #3: My MMI has no volume but it comes back perhaps once every few days upon startup.- Do i need to replace the MMI? Or can i just take it apart and clean the volume contacts?
Issue #4: Navigation, Info and Car options on MMI are not available- I noticed that the Navi module is missing and there is space in the rack below it for another module
- What other module is missing at the bottom of the rack
- Where can i get a Navi CD for Southeast Asia (Philippines)
Issue #5: Does my MMI need updating? - How do i go about doing this? Is there a step-by-step link i can follow?
Issue #6: Occasional and repetitive humming sound while engine is running.- happens while engine is running and comes on every 30 secs or more and runs for another 30 or so before it disappears
- soft humming sound but. It could be the A/C compressor but doesn't seem like it as the sound is a soft hum from inside the cabin
Issue #7: Suspension issues - need to source parts.- Here in the Philippines parts from the Audi dealership will cost an arm and a leg. Where can i order online specific to this model with VIN #: WAUZZZ4F15N078472
Issue #8: Sourcing trims and other interior parts.- I need to replace the interior dashboard and vent trims and switches which are now worn out. Where can i find them online? I've searched ebay and some other sites but cant find exactly what i need.

A generic OBD-II scanner won't do the job. You need VAG-COM (VCDS) from Ross Tech or another OEM-equivalent scanner to properly diagnosis your car. For parts, try www.autohausaz.com or www.genuineaudiparts.com (discounted Audi OEM parts). Not sure either would ship to the Philippines, but both are good suppliers.

Issue #3 - Ordered a pre-owned unit, will see how it works
Issue #4 - Ordered a Navi module but would need the Navi CD, if anyone can help, it would be much appreciated.
Issue #5 - Hope someone can help with a clear step-by-step for newbies like me
Issue #6 - Seems to have something to do with the A/C, any ideas?
Issue #7 - Ordered the parts from Germany, but would be grateful for any other online sources closer to Southeast Asia
Issue #8 - Still searching.

Yep that's a c6.. Never seen or heard one with a 3.0 gasoline engine.. Not even mentioned in Audi A6 Wikipedia...

Edit #2 yes there is an 3.0 ...must be for other markets than US,EU... =)
