No Voice commands in phone book
I can manually select from the uploaded phone book but I haven't been able to use voice commands for the address book names..someone posted a recent TSB for Communication..I wonder if it addresses this issue?
No cradle just the BT connection using a Hp 6915 Ipaq Phone, win5 OS,technically called a pocket pc. BTW, I've never had audi voice phonebook commnds with this phone.

Does you car have the Voice Command (SDS?) option? If not, your voice command could still work (only for telephone menu) if you get a MMI software update (and I think there is also a change required using VAGCOM). My voice command started working right after I picked the car up from the dealer with the MMI update.
You need to record the entry using the voice command - it doesn't pick it up from the phonebook (my bmw recognized the name from the uploaded phonebook). Once you have recorded the names, you can then ask the car to dial them out.

as I said above: you need to STORE the voice tag for each phone book entry first.
According to the MMI manual:
Press the mode button on the MFSW
Scroll left thumbwheel to Phone book and press
Scroll left thumbwheel to desired phone book entry and press
Press the right TALK button and wait for beep
Say STORE
When prompted, say the name for that phone book entry
Repeat name when prompted
Voice tag should now be stored
