Noise from Front Right Side of Engine
Hello,
I recently purchased a used 2006 A6 4.2 S-Line. About 2 days or so ago, I began hearing a noise from the front right side of the engine, goes away after about 5-10 minutes of driving. No check engine lights. It was $650 and was well taken care of by the owner, so I don't mind investing in it to make it run a bit longer. I'll be heading to the mechanic to check out the serpentine belt and tensioners in the morning. Has anyone else experienced this issue, I've left a video of the noise.
Thanks in advance,
C.N

Sounds very much like the serpentine belt. Can be normal if you live in a humid environment and this happens only after a cold start.
Otherwise, it's a sign of wear and it may be time to replace your belt and tensioner.

Thanks guys for the reply. The forum has been an invaluable resource for me, even found some of @kelisko videos on youtube.
The car has no fault codes showing, and has about 112K miles on it. I'm replacing the serpentine belt, will replace tensioners as well if noise continues. I guess it would make sense to get them both replaced for good measure.
Will keep you posted with progress.

Yup, almost certainly the serpentine. No real need to replace it for the squeek, new ones can do that under some circumstances. Still though, I get that it's annoying.
