P0906 Tiptronic Short to Ground How to Test?
Working on a 2006 C6 and it is the built after 11/2005 version. The car won't start, it will crank and one of the main codes is this transmission short to ground, I believe the magnets are intact and where they belong. Photos are here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/9vQuN4WqXYCkzX4W8 I haven't had much luck doing actual uploads here. I am fairly confident there is a problem with either the F189 module or the wiring to it, and I am wondering if someone could tell me how to test it. There is a wiring diagram in the picture link. I am also wondering if this could cause a no start. I don't get any other codes that would stop the car from cranking. Thanks in advance for your help!

I read in another thread on an unrelated issue that short to ground means the same thing as no power? Anyone have any comment on that? Is it true?

Thanks sswari. Didn't really see much, I a kind of looking for someone to tell me the pinout test or something. I think I am going to buy a new F189 sensor/sender unless someone gives me a better idea quick!

OK, got a boneyard shifter, took the sensor off and swapped it out, still has a code. Seems to happen when I shift it into drive, also the numbers and letters scroll like D 1 2 3 4 5. Anyone have any idea what to look at next?

I just checked each pin in the connector that goes to J217 from F189 (selector switch) with a power probe. I seem to have both ground AND voltage in terminal 8 (I LOVE the PP!) The diagram shows some kind of B477 switch connecting track 29 and 30. Guess I will have to figure out what and where that switch is. Here are a couple pictures which may be helpful
