Default Paddle Shifter spring bent - options to replace? '08 A6 S-Line

My upshift paddle shifter has been stuck for some time now. Finally got around to popping the steering wheel open and taking it out.

I found that the spring that makes contact with the electrical components was all bent to hell, leaving it stuck.

What are my options to replace? Do I have to replace the entire paddle shifter, or is it possible to just buy a replacement spring or the non-electrical part of the shifter?

That seems like a pretty darn easy fix. Just take it down to your local non-big box h/w store and ask them for a replacement spring which has about the same tension and you should be good to go.
