Part number for front oxygen sensor?

2 Attachment(s)
I'd bought the front o2 sensor from the dealer - tried putting it on, but the pin config on the new one is not the same as the one on the car.

The part that I got was 06E906265S (with the wrong pin config).

The o2 sensor on my car has a 4 pin config (red color) while the one on the new part has a 6 pin config (black color) (shown in pic).

Does anyone know the right part number for the front, pre-cat o2 sensor my '06, 3.2 liter quattro? I am changing bank 2 (which is the side where the coolant is located)

The ETKA for a 2006 A6 US model BKH engine shows 06E906265F for the lambda probe in front of the catalyst. The last letter changes to P for cylinders 1-3 behind the catalyst and N for cylinders 4-6 behind the catalyst. My guess is that the last letter determines the connector style and wire length. I cannot find the S suffix in the A6 catalog for 2006 for any US engine.

I did a search for the F suffix part number on Genuineaudiparts.com and it pops up with the S suffix part number and a note that says that the F number was superseded with the S part. It then lists that part for a bunch of vehicles with the 3.2 liter engine - A4, A5, S5, Q5 but no A6. Very strange.

Sorry I could not be more help. Let us all know what you discover.

Thanks Schwartz6 - looks like I removed the after cat sensor. I was under the initial impression that you had to get under the car to remove the after cat - maybe true for the S6, but looks like you can remove the after cat from under the hood.

I guess the times when I could buy generic bosch three wire sensor and solder it to the harnes from the old sensor is over. out of curiosity, how much did it cost? can you still use 22mm O2 socket to get it out?

Yes, the 22mm socket works. I rented it from autozone ($25 deposit) - they have a hole in them for the wire.

Cost about $130-$140 each from audipartsnationwide.com - $180 retail + tax at dealer.
