Default Audi C6 S6 Driver Key lock jammed

Hello,

my driver key lock seems to be jammed since the recent cold weather / salt on the road. I'm having a 2007 S6 with Advanced Key.

Generally not a big deal but somehow my spare key also does not unlock the car anymore, seems they need to get them paired again which also just works if you get the key you want to pair into the door lock. There is no trunk lock either, only one outside lock for the whole car.

I already tried the "WD40 bath" spraying into the door lock without success.

Anyhow, question is did somebody already disassemble his door lock and is it actually feasible to repair if the sliders in there are just seized up or do I need to go to the dealer and buy a new lock because they are build in a way that you cannot access anything.

Any advice appreciated!

Thomas

Change the battery in the key fob.

So if you have advance key why are you using the key in the lock?

Also, there is a trunk lock unless it was removed on later years.
It's going to be hidden right by the trunk handle. I don't know if it opens the whole car though since I've never actually used any of the key holes in the car.

Allright, got it finally working with a small screw driver playing with the sliders and loads of WD40....!

To the question: why not use the keyfob? Because I have to learn my other keys. Hence the related question, how do I program a new key (seems it "forgot" the coding)?

You'll need two keys to program the second key:

1) Open the driver door, turn the ignition switch to on, but do not start the car.
2) Close and lock the driver door with the other key (not the valet key).
3) Hold down both buttons on the fob for about 5 seconds. The lights should flash (and the alarm horn may honk).
4) Open the door, remove the key from the ignition. Close and lock the door with the key.
