Default The rad does what??!

Can someone confirm the following story?

"when removing the 3.2 engine, the radiator actually swivels down underneath the engine and thus, eliminating the need to remove it entirely"

is this true?? Seems to be too good to be true

Reference for this claim? I doubt it is true because the radiator is secured by four bolts/tabs (two per side) to the frame. And why would you want to?

I am currently preparing for an engine swap... 3.2 is pooched and I sourced a used motor.

Can people chime in and tell me what you've done to remove it. i.e did you just use an engine picker and pull it out... or did you remove front bumper and radiator to get er' done.

Cheers

you have to remove the front bumper and rad. You'll be disconnecting tranny lines, youll need to drop the sub frame to remove the tranny before you remove the engine.

Have fun, been there done that and have the shirt

Thanks for the reply... not disputing what you've said but I haven't heard of having to drop the transmission before engine... simply the torque converter bolts (after starter is removed) and the bell housing bolts.... followed by swack load over other things.

My job was a little more involved because I had to do the rear timing covers so I went further. its just my two cents in the multiple ways to skin a cat

As in the lower timing chain? yuck! that would be intimidating.

Thanks for the reply any ways, i'll be starting this next week... a surprising amount of room to get to the bell housing bolts so I am excited about that...
