one more question. Does anyone know if the control module is on the same side of the car as the speaker/buzzer. Seems logical that it would be. I have found the control module on the passenger/right side of the car.

Audi A4 Quattro 1.9 tdi 2003. UNDER REAR SHELF.

Found eventually under the rear shelf. Access from inside the car.Remove the large loudspeaker cover (2' by 1' approx ) by gently prising upwards with a screwdriver and the buzzer is visible to the right of the speaker and accessible. I found this out after initially being told by my local Audi dealer it was behind the window trim on the rear passenger side seat and later advised it was under the glove box.

Huge shout out to Boldenwell and Kelisko among others for their knowledge share.

2010 C6 S6 - I blew the interior apart to find the backup speaker is not in this location.
The mounting tabs on the seatbelt cover are present just like the pics above show, but no backup speaker to be found.

Does anyone know of an alternate location for an S6?

This is what erWin shows for the 07 S6
Note the bottom 2 comments, my 06 A6 it was in the left side, have not looked for it in the S6 and hope I don't need to any time soon

Thank you sswari 👍

As per your doc the 2010 S6 backup speaker location is base of right rear c-pillar.

The original backup speaker had a recurring DTC. Measured resistance of the original defective speaker = 9 ohms and the new OE replacement = 55 ohms. Looks like the speaker coil windings are shorting to each other or the metal speaker body which effectively reduces the coil wire length and reduces the coil resistance. As others have mentioned once this DTC appears and returns immediately after clear then expect the speaker to audibly fail soon.
