Default Removing front fender / bumper

Hi

When removing front bumper / fender I know there are three torx bolts at the top (under the clip-on plastic cover) and two 10mm nuts accessed with long extension from the wheel well, but is that it? I can't seem to get my bumper off even after removing those fasteners, so are there some more somewhere which I don't know about?

Thanks

Peel back the wheel well liner where it meets the bumper and fender. There's a small Torx screw holding the bumper to the fender. One on each side.

Hi shark wood - thanks for your reply. Silly question, but what's the difference between a bumper and a fender? I included both terms in my original post because I thought Americans call the wide thing at the front and back of a car a "fender" whereas we in Europe call it a bumper. But you've referred to both as separate items so perhaps I've misunderstood?

We call the front and back pieces "bumpers" (or even fascias) as in those are the items most likely to get bumped. Fenders are also called quarter-panels and are the four body pieces that go over the four wheel wells. I think you blokes call them "wings."

Here's a pic of where those screws are. Inside the wheel well, under the liner, right near the edge.

Thanks shark wood, so i was wrong about fenders, they are in fact wings as you said.

So in addition to the 10mm nuts which fix the bumper to the fender there are also torx screws? I'll take another look and see if I can track them down. Thanks for the info!

This should get you through it. They are missing a few fasteners on the car and they don't mention head light washers in case you have those as well. If you do have the washers, you want a hose clamp to seal off the fluid once it's disconnected.

Unfortunately, that video doesn't show the two Torx screws that the OP missed. Like several other fasteners on the video car, those screws are also missing.

You're right sharkwood. I found them in the end, low down in the wheel well area after popping out the side of the front bumper. It's a great video, but omitted that vital info.
