Default Removing Tail Light Assembly - 2007 A6

Can anyone explain to how to remove the tail light assemblies on my 2007 A6? I found two screws that, when removed, loosen each assembly. But for the life of me I can not get any further than that. Something is holding the assembly to the body on the side opposite the screw(s). If I reach around to the inside of the trunk / assembly area, I can feel two bolts or something with a plastic like cover. They appear to be at about the place where the assembly seems stuck, but I can't see them or get at them with a pliers or anything else. Hope somebody knows how to do this 'cuz I have no desire to pay my dealer an inflated labor rate and parts charge for something that should be simple (burned out light bulb(s)). Thanks. P.S. I've googled this topic and seen some pictures, but they don't appear to be for an '07 A6 because they look nothing like what I'm seeing...

There is a third nut on the picture that you did not have an arrow on. Did you try removing that?

Yes, there are actually two of them. You can't tell from the picture, but they are both below where the assembly fits into the body. So removing the nuts on both didn't help.

After removing the screws you pointed out, wedge a thin plastic trim remover between quarter panel and the tail light assy, and push it back. The place you marked "won't budge" is good point.

^ what he said. The assembly is just held in with some comression clips into the side of the car. Once you put some pressure on it they just pop right out.

To remove taillight you only need to remove one,13mm, plastic nut. The other two you speak of are for bumber removal.
