I went with 40mph down to 10mph x 5 and then 35mph down to 5mph with no stops. Then I drove it for about 5 min with very minimal applying of the brakes to let them cool down. I have no clue if it was a success. LOL. I know it is supposed to leave a layer of brake material on the rotor but I haven't looked to see if it's there and I'm not certain if my eyeballs are calibrated enough to know the difference. LOL.

First impressions of Akebonos are that they feel pretty much the same. I do think that I need to press the pedal just a slight bit more but nothing to write home about. What is noticeable is less initial bite. With the OEM pads when I would touch the brake it would almost throw me forward. It no longer does that. As far as brake dust, I do see just a little on there today and I was expecting to see none. But maybe that has to do with my brake in process. I will be able to give that a better assessment after a few days because normally after 3 or 4 days my silver rims were covered in brake dust.

Verdict on brake dust after having my Akebono pads installed for 2 weeks......................love my clean rims. Also, seems to perform about the same. May be a LITTLE less performance but to the average guy like me, it's barely noticeable and to me (again, this is just me), it's an acceptable trade off for my shiny rims. Only had to clean them once in 2 weeks and even then they barely had any dust on them (equivalent to what I would have after 2 days with the OEM pads).
