How much can I sell my A6 for?
2008 A6 S-Line with every possible option available except solar sunroof. 54,084 miles, needs NOTHING. Just wondering if I put it up for sale what everyone thinks I can get for it. Clean carfax, I'm the 2nd owner, no accidents, no door dings. I need to get out of my car payment as I'm buying a house and need to let it go.
Thanks guys.

I had the exact same car - 2008 A6 S Line, every option (advanced key, backup cam, sensors, etc). It was CPO'd and when I sold it, the car had 45,000 miles. I sold it last month.
Did a ton of research, and with 45K miles, the wholesale price was around $20K. I was able to trade it into an Audi dealership for $23K. Went to 4 different dealers, and got trade offers between $21-23K. I was also purchasing a new Audi which might have inflated the trade a bit to close the deal. The dealership is now selling that car for $26,000 CPO'd.
Hope that gives you some idea.

Thanks, that does help. I have a dealership ready to give me $23k for mine on Monday. Just don't know if I should hold out for more $ or keep it and keep making the payments.

$23K for with 55K miles sounds like a pretty fair deal. Depending on what part of the country you live in, I don't think you would get much more selling it privately.

I'm in nor cal now, but will be in santa Barbara, ca soon. I think I might just hold onto it for another year if it doesn't sell. Assuming I put about 10k miles on it in the next year and I keep my cars flawless it should bring $19-20k

That sounds about right, figure 20% a year for depreciation. The only thing though is the redesigned 2012 A6 may make a 2008 model depreciate quicker.

One thing you can do is check out Autotrader and Cars.com and see what cars in your area are selling for. That should at least give you a good idea of low and high prices and then decide if it is worth keeping for awhile, take the $23k the dealer offered or deal with selling it yourself. I know for myself, when I was looking for my 4.2 I found prices varied as much as $10,000 depending on where the car was located! It was crazy to find the nearly exact same car 1500 miles apart at that kind of price difference.
Good luck with which ever choice you make!
