Default Not sure about the C6 version, but previous Bose systems had Bose speakers (obviously),...

a higher wattage, and probably a better equilizer for separating the lows, mids, and highs. For an upgrade, it probably isn't worth the cost since you would have to purchase all of the items thru the dealer.

I have the standard, and it sounds great. Not heard the Bose in the C6 yet though.

Default The main differences are Bose applifier has seperate equalizers for each channel and....

different speaker component. It also offer simulated surround sound field. Haven't see any specs between Bose and non-Bose, I would suspect Bose might offer a little better freqency bandwidth and lower THD.

Default Does anyone know if speakers are different (i.e. Bose)

I have bose, but unlike S4 (where, if i remember correctly) speakers are labeled with 'Bose', in mine i didn't notice that.

Do you mean on the speaker itself or on the speaker grills? Mine are all labeled on door panels....

Default C5 had pretty crap standard sound system, but the C6 std is far, far better.

When I ordered my C6, the salesman told me not to bother with the Bose.

Just a personal point of view, but Bose home speakers are not very good, esp their satelite & sub system. Feel that some frequencies are missing.

My wife tried to get me to install the Bose system at home when we renovated last year, but I refused. Ended up with the home cinema Magneplanars plus a Snell sub which absolutely blows the Bose system away.

To cut a long story short, I can't say I'm very impressed with Bose. Audi can't be too, if they're moving to B&O for the A8.

I have the Bose system in my C6, and I have to say its not very impressive. There is no deep bass... only boominess in the upper bass region. A subwoofer would really help. I've heard better sound systems in far less expensive cars.

Our '99 A4's Bose system (which came with a sub) sounds much better.

And don't get me started on Bose home speakers....!

Home system: biamplified, modified Altec Flamenco "Voice of the Theater", Klipsch center and surround speakers. Rotel and Harmon Kardon amplification.

Default For those with the std system, I found a sub-woofer control in the MMI

Works pretty well. Any idea where the sub is located?
