I have S6 wheels, 19x9, 265/35/19 on my A6 3.2 Quattro Avant.

What would be the recommended pressure?

The gas door shows 36/33 unloaded with 245/40/18.

Thanks
Those are all "MAX Load" pressures though? Correct?

Bumping this up! The gas cap shutter on my 2005 A6 3.2 quattro says
32 psi front and
30 psi rear for
245/40 R18
Y rated tires
with 3 or less passengers, the driver included.

Is this the MAX, the MIN or the RECOMMENDED average? I have the feeling it's not enough, especially the front.

Kelisko, that's likely the "normal" load pressures. Do you have the Owner's Manual for your car? That will have more information listed.

I just checked. The manual says on page 330:

"... The tire pressure is shown on the label located inside the fuel filler flap..."

"... Inflate your tires to the pressures shown on the sticker inside the fuel filler flap and always adjust the tire pressures to match the vehicle load. For optimum vehicle performance, it is preferable that you adjust the tire pressures to the values established for maximum vehicle load. If you wish to improve comfort when operating the vehicle at normal load (up to 3 occupants), you can adjust tire pressures to those specified for normal vehicle load..."

I think I found my answer (in bold above). I can inflate the tires to a pressure between the pressure specified for the normal load (up to 3 occupants) and the pressure specified for the maximum load (5 occupants) if there will be 3 or less occupants in the car, which is most of the time my case. I will just lose a little bit of ride comfort but gain a little more of sportiness which I prefer.

Thanks uberwgn!

Don't forget to get the correct pressure, the tire must be cold. Also outside temperature plays a big factor. When cold the tire pressure will be lower but if it's hot the pressure will be greater. Here's a link that explains it. Just select your car make - year - and tire size.
