Default What gaskets/seals are needed to stop front and rear diff leak?

Hello all,
I plan to change out my front and rear diff fluid (and transfer case fluid). I have a pretty bad leak and had a mechanic look at it and he said my seals need to be replaced in the back. I'm assuming I should do that for the font also. What seals are he referring to in the back? I'm thinking axle seals?? A part # would also be great. I know someone will ask, "are you sure the diff is leaking"? I'm not 100% sure but I know the diff is covered in oil and that's a pretty far distance for oil to travel from anywhere in the front so it has to be leaking from the diff/axle somewhere. Any advice would be great.

Thanks.

Why not just do very good cleaning of your rear diff with brake cleaner and look for leaks a few days later? The front one..how did they see it leaking?
on the front..youve got axle seals..and driveshaft output seal..on rear..driveshaft input seal and axle seals..

That is a good idea. I may try that. I'm pretty sure the seals are leaking though. So on the front I need 2 axle seals and a driveshaft output seal. On the rear I need 2 axle seals and a driveshaft input seal. Cool.
Do you have an idea where to buy them? I'm having a hard time finding what I am looking for. I checked Parts Geek, Pelican Parts, Rock Auto. Don't want to buy genuine (Geneuineaudiparts.com). Thanks.

For example, this is what comes up on www.partsgeek.com. I don't know which ones to buy. Do I need 2 of the "differential seals" for the front and 2 for the back? Of do I need 2 of the "drive axle seals" for the front and 2 for the back? And I don't see any input or output seals. Help. :-)

This site (www.europaparts.com) only lists output shaft seals but lists only one for the rear but for the front it says its for the front right. Is there also one on the front left? Also, Nurke said above that the front has output and the rear had input. This site lists both as output. I am so confused. LOL.

Pinion shaft seal : 857 525 275
Shaft seal (x2) : 0AR 409 399B
Double check year fitment at parts.audiusa.com
They are really cheap at the dealership. Once I got front trans seal from advance auto... pfff wrong part.. had to wait 1 week more to get it from dealer.. not worth risking.
Also double check if you need seal washers too... N 900 682 01
