What would you choose?
I'm trying to come back to the Audi family after a few years in the MB camp. I had 7 Audis previously and have enjoyed them all.
I'm looking at 3 A6s that I'm seriously interested in. Thought I'd ask everybody what they thought as I'm kind-of at an impasse. Prices are within $3K of each other. What would you choose from these three: 1. 2005 A6 3.2, Dakar Beige, beige interior, Convenience Pkg, Premium Pkg, 17" wheels, heated seats, 58K miles. No nav, no side/rear sunshades. I like the beige interior quite a bit - looks warm and inviting. 2. 2006 A6 3.2, Grey w/Platinum leather (darker than silver, lighter than Oyster exterior.) Sports pkg (18" wheels), nav, Conv & Prem Pkg, side/rear sunshades, 52K miles. Out of state, so would have to factor in travel or transport costs. 3. 2005 A6 3.2, Silver w/Platinum Leather, Conv & Premium Pkgs, no rear sun shades, 48K miles, Audi CPO, in state but would need to fly to Bay Area to pick up. Price is $1K higher than #2 (2006 A6 above) What would you guys pick? I also can't seem to find any Arctic White A6s that are reasonably priced. If one were available within the above price range and the option packages I wanted, it would be an easy decision... |
None - I'd get a V8

#2 - Sports Pkg - Great Color - Fly and drive

Re: None - I'd get a V8
Would love a V8, but am looking for a comfortable and fuel efficient daily driver and weekend family hauler (to help lighten the amount of miles we put on the family SUV.) Great suggestion though!

#3, negotiate nav addition prior to pickup if absent.
|
#2 has all the right toys...plus the newer MMI.
|
#2, equipped very similar to my '05 other than sun shades...
FYI, 18" wheels were a $1200 option on mine, assume same in '06. Just curious, since mine ('05, 44k miles, blk/blk) comes off lease (residual about $28k)in 2 months -- what's the asking for these? Also, you might want to contact Bruce M (usually hangs out on D2 Forum) about extended warranty. His prices are very good and represents a solvent company. I just got one from him for my '02 S8.

Prices
Thanks for the input! Seems the 2005s with less than 50K miles are selling in the $20-25K range. CPO will be higher, of course. Seems dealers trying to sell 50K+ mile cars are having a tough time and prices tend to be toward the low $20K range.
Thanks for pointing me in the direction of Bruce M! That would help me to take the fear out of purchasing a non-CPO car. BTW, I had a '83 UR Quattro too. Silver with chocolate brown interior. Wish I had never sold it... and I sold it way too cheap! Argh... |
Only suggested the 4.2 because....
it is a very nice engine and on the highway you get close to the same mileage as the 3.2

#2.
