That is one of the reasons I have driven Audi's since 1980. They always have one of the best safety ratings.

My A6's life passed before my eyes tonight on the drive home, an old Accord two cars ahead of me went into a spin for reasons unknown and after the brake dust settled I was in my lane southbound and directly ahead of me and now facing me northbound was the Accord. Behind the wheel, looking directly at me was a somewhat nonplussed woman who put the Accord into drive, turned around and drove off like it happened to her everyday. WTF? Very strange. Anyway, good to know the stats were on my side, but best of all nobody got hurt or hit. Never experienced anything like that before, it happened so quickly, and in rush hour traffic that was moving totally normally on a beautiful (albeit hot) day. I guess you really just never know...but this was just plain weird.

Default GT coupe

in the 80s my GT coupe had an unfriendly interaction with a car from the land of the rising sun.
let's just say my coupe lived long enough to see his grandchildren grow, and the other car did not even live to date.

my new avant got rearended by jetta a few months ago. my passenger told that it was like cops rearending cars to put them into spin.

in any case jetta got bumper, hood, light and fender destroyed. the avant had only a few skid marks. I paid $30 to a carwash guy to buff them off.

To be frank the statistics are all wrong. Obviously a Minivan have less collisions then Z350. Because the first is driven by a mom afraid to wake up a baby and another one by a teenager who tries to show off in front of girls. Otherwise how you can explain that a SUV and a truck are made on the same base but SUV has much less accidents.

Yes, it may be true the results are somewhat skewed but I do see a number of "new" drivers at the gym piloting <horror of horrors> Mom's minivan. You never know who you will find behind the wheel of what at any given time!
