I took the A7 to the dealership for the fuel line recall last week. This was also my very first time experiencing Audi service department. Thanks to this thread I used my VCDS to scan for codes everyday a week prior, immediately before leaving for the dealership, at the dealership when I arrived and immediately when they gave me the car back. No codes and the car drives normal.
The experience from the dealership is a different story.

When I purchased my 2012 in March I had the work done and have had no problems.

I recently bought a used A7 (2012) from a non-Audi dealer; is there a way to tell if the recall was already performed on the vehicle? I assume by a VIN look-up somewhere?

While you can find out through a search. Contact your closest Audi dealership and get to know them. Ask them about your car and they should be helpful.
