2016 A7 Recall?
I'm interested in buying a pre-owned 2016 A7 3.0T Prestige, and was ready to go into my local dealership tomorrow to get the transaction started; however I got a call from the salesman today saying the vehicle is subject to a recall that was announced this week and they can't sell it until they replace some sensors.
I don't see any sign of this recall when I look up the VIN on the NHTSA site - does anyone know what recall the dealership might be referring to?

From what I just found out, it is an emissions issue surrounding the A6/S6 & A7/S7. I don't know if the 16 you are looking at is included, but the dealer told me they cannot sell an A-S6 or A-S7 until the recalls have been addressed. Kind of sucks
because I was looking to trade mine in toward something else and they gave me a low offer because they cannot sell them yet... Sigh

It is a problem with the connector on an airbag control module. It is possible that the seat sensors will not properly determine if the seat is occupied or not and not properly deploy the airbags. Parts are not yet available as this recall was announced last Tuesday.

This is for my S7, but the A7 uses the same hardware for the airbag system....

DESCRIPTIONThe Passenger Occupant Detection System (PODS) control module can malfunction due to stress/wear factors affecting an internal connector or contact resistance increase at body-sensing mat in the seat. Should a malfunction occur, vehicle occupants will be alerted of a PODS system problem by illumination of the airbag monitoring light and by the status of the Passenger Airbag OFF indicator light. In this situation, a front passenger seat occupant risks injury in a crash because a malfunctioning PODS system may not make the correct airbag deployment decision for the type of occupant seated there.
