2019 A7 release date?

I'm confused- i read the 2018 A7 comes out later this year, and then the 2019 new generation model comes out mid 2018? Do we know when? It seems like very little time between the 2018 and 2019 models.

Yes...2018's are already here and available.

From various articles, the next gen 2019 A7's may be revealed late this year. It won't go on sale til mid 2018...but that's in Europe.

Us in N.A. probably won't see the next gen til a year later. N.A. most often lag 1 year behind.

For the US/Canada market the next generation A7 will be MY19. My guess is that it will be announced next month at the Frankfurt autoshow

You are confusing calendar year with sales (MY) "year". I believe the info posted by Chucky0731 is most likely correct, except there is an engine issue.

An issue for North American cars is the engine used in the C7 models for this final production period. The older 3.0TFSI supercharged engine has been pulled from just about every market, except USA and Canada. And that happened some time ago.

They will have stockpiled some supercharged engines, but production has moved to the new EA839 turbocharged 3.0TFSI (badged as 55 TFSI) engine as used in the B9 S4/S5 and the SQ5. Don't know whether Audi will make the switch before the new C8 model A7 appears - probably not.

Because of the engine situation, it would seem to be in Audi's interest to bring the new C8 A7 to the NA region as quickly as possible.

Looks like I'm out of luck then. My lease expires 12/31/17 but I could probably extend it until 12/31/18... but even then, that would not get me the bridge to the 2019 A7...

The A7 would be my most expensive car to date, so I was hoping to get in to the 2019... I feel like if I got the 2018 I'd be missing the boat for still a really high price tag.

My dealer told me that the A6 would be available in August 2018. I think the A7 should be available then or shortly afterwards.

Possible release date - 20 October 2017
There are images with almost no camouflage

That would be great to see it Oct 20th. So much for my Frankfurt release theory...
