After many hours spent on this problem, it seems like it is an issue with the ABS valves, which make this sound when opening/closing. I could not verify this for sure as it costs about 1,800 euros to change the ABS pump and my service said it is not an issues that would justify replacing the unit. Also, from what I was told, you cannot disable the ABS in any way to check if the sound is still there after shutting it off. I believe I just learned to live with it...

Hi Vladgladlad
I have the same knocking noise on my Q5 2016. In other thread (post) some Audi owners talk about the 034 mount insert (
)

Have you found a solution in your case?

Best regards

Hi, what happened with the noise from the engine mounts? Did you find a solution or you just accepted it and stopped paying attention?
I have exactly the same problem after changing the engine mounts - knocking noise after engine stop and after reaching 15 km/h. The parts were exchanged again with new ones and there is still the same noise. As the engine mounts are electrical i disconnected the power and the knocking noise disappeared. It seams that either the new mounts are very noisy or they are not replaced propperly.
What do you think, could this noise come from incorrect replacement?

Hi,
Last weekend, I disconnected the wires from the left motor mount and the noise from the left seems disappeared. I think! I was not able to disconnect the right. How did you did to disconnect the right motor mount?
Do you have a picture?
regards

A service technician did it for me while the car was up in the air. They were disconnected only for test and then connected back again.

Hi all,
I am looking at 2013/14 Audi A6's with around 90/100 k miles. I have for the most part read about them being reliable, though I am finding a few complaints of timing chain issues. It is unclear to me the cost if there is noise or if they are doomed to fail. Should I let this deter me from buying the car? If not, how much would it cost to have done.
Best regards and thanks for reading, Will

Got both motor mounts changed and have the same noise too. A6 3.0t. Mine happens at 12 km/h only. Do you guys think it has something to do with the axle?
