Default Audi Connect Renewal?

Those of us early adopters either have or are quickly coming up for renewal on our Audi Connect Data Plans thru t-Mobile. I received an initial "your service is coming to an end....." e-mail exactly two months prior to expiration. My service is scheduled to end this coming Friday at midnight.

In this original e-mail I was provided with the following renewal options:

• Sign up to one of the following pre-paid services
o Monthly service plan $30.00
o 12-month service plan $324.00
o 24-month service plan $600.00

Curious if anyone else has been offered anything else or special promotional rates that differ from the above. I'm thinking of letting it expire on Friday and see if they contact me to offer anything else. Personally I think $30 / month is alot for the service that's being provided. Just my 2 cents.

I renewed for a year with no special offers. I thought I would give it a year and then reevaluate at that point.

I didn't receive any type of email nor did I renew. I tried to the get the weather via the online path a day or so ago and it said the data was unavailable. As long as the Google maps stays on the nav, I see nothing that my smartphone can't provide if I really need it.

Ah, this brings up a question I've asked before but have not gotten a reply; is the T-Mobile introductory plan unlimited data/month? I will be doing a 2,000 mile trip sometime after I get the car. Will I run into extra charges? Ok, one more question, how does the Audi connect work when you are on a trip? Is it constantly "online" or does it dl info as needed? I know it starts with a 25 mile radius, does that mean every 25 miles it then dl more data?

My point exactly, and its too expensive, the system could have easily been done differently, i.e tethering through a smartphone. But everyone has to make money i suppose.

I know i will get slack about that too expensive comment, but in my opinion , it is.

Even though I can't get my weather and stuff, the nav does still show the Google Map view. did not know about the 25 mile radius but that will get tested this weekend. I am still paying $3.99 for the live traffic which I like and will stay with.

Does the Google map view show POIs or do you only get that in the Standard 3D view?

I think those only show in the non-Google view. But I need to spend some time with the navigation manual and find out more functions. I am sure I am only using a tenth of what it offers.
