Best all-season tire for 2016 Audi A7?
 

What is the best all-season tire for 2016 Audi A7? I am replacing the original Continental ProContact TX, which have lasted about 35k miles. I do not plan to go the route of separate winter and summer tires. I do live in CO. Please advise.

I have had great luck with the Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06. I have fitted them to both my RS5 and A6 3.0. They are reasonably quiet, do well in moderate snow conditions and most importantly to me - they do not spoil the sport handling. Although they are a compromise from summer performance fitments, I was amazed at how predictable they were in aggressive driving. Plus, with a UTQG rating of 560, they outlasted my summer tires (UTQG 280-320).

I just put the Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 on the car somewhere about a month ago. Previously had the Pirelli P Zero's on there. Only have a couple thousand miles on them but did make a few spirited runs on a known twisty to get a comparison. For everyday driving, the Continental does great. During wet weather and standing water on the road, the tires performed as expected. It is noticeably quieter than the Pirelli as well. It's only when pushing the car in the twisties does the difference in tires become apparent. Turn in and cornering grip on the P Zero's is noticeably better. I am not a track day driver by any means, just your average Audi A7 owner that knows it's limited to 135mph......for now.

I replaced the summers on my S7 with Michelin A/S 3+ and find them to be very good all around. A lot quieter than the Sport Contacts that came off too.

Which is quieter for 20" the Continental or Michelin? Thanks

I'm really happy with the OEM Pirelli P7s we have on our 2015 A7. Previous A7 had the Goodyear Eagle A/S and they wore out after 15K. Replaced with Pirelli P6s and did not like those. Too much road noise.

Once the P7s are done I would probably go with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. Can't go wrong with Michelin

I just replaced the Pirellis that came with the car (2015 A7) after 70000km with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. Much quieter!

I had the 275/35R20 michelin Pilot Sport AS3 tires on my car and I loved them but they got harsh and noisy in the end with only 18k miles on them... I use separate winter rims 19 inch with Blizzak LM32 tires which are amazing in the snow with comfortable ride and handling. I have the winters on now and in the spring I plan to try the new Pirellis P Zero Nero which have great review from tirerack and as good as the michelin as3+. My tirerack sales guy says these tires are very comfortable and super quiet while retaining the handling feel.

I dont know about the DWS06... I have had bad experience with continentals in the past (out of round tire, vibration, etc) and also they are a bit mushy tires...

nitto nt555 are the best and they dont break the bank. only $900 for all for and they will last 30,000 miles. they handle great , look great and only difference with these and the pirelli's is that the pirelli's are rated up to 180 so unless your racing on a track the nittos are just fine, they are rated up to around 120 or 130, i've hit up to 160 on mine so thats just my experience
