Plasti-dip, paint or vinyl depending on the size and placement of the trim and what you're comfortable with.
3M shadowline vinyl and Trim Brite black out tape are a couple good names for vinyl.

100% go with vinyl if you're trying to black out the chrome window trim.
I repeat this every time someone considers plasti dip, and this is from real world experience, plasti dip just does not hold up well on window trim pieces. Plasti dip can work well on a lot of other things, but I have had more customers come by to have me wrap their window trim after they had unsuccessfully tried to plasti dip their window trim. It's not that plasti dipping the window trim is hard, but it's the fact that it just does not hold up, even if you get good coverage/application of material on there.
As far as painting the chrome trim goes, if you ask most painters about painting chrome, most will probably tell you that paint does not stick/adhere to chrome surfaces well. Think of all of the painted chrome grills out there with dozens of rock chips showing chrome through them. I know the grill is in an area that is more prone to chipping, but it's still possible with any other chrome pieces on the car as well.
If you need materials, I sell material to DIY wrap your window trim if you needed a source. Even if you don't get materials from me, if you had any questions, feel free to ask and I'll try to help out.
