i ordered myself FreedomPop sim card for 9 bucks. I haven installed it yet. It will be free data plan. Just remember to downgrade to free after receiving the card; otherwise it will be $19 a month.

With a 2014 A7 your best current options are:

- unlimited 30 month prepaid Audi Connect/T-Mobile plan for $450 (works out to $15 @ month)
- unlimited 12 month prepaid AC/T-Mo plan for $199 (works out to $16.58 @ month)
- Freedom Pop with 200MB limited free data after purchasing the sim card
- TruPhone pay for data as you go using the AT&T 3G network.

US Mobile has had problems with the Audi 3G MMI and is no longer recommended.

If you plan on using the Google Earth overlay extensively and/or the car's wifi hotspot, the unlimited Audi Connect plans will end up being the least expensive.

I've been on Freedompop for about a week and so far so good. It looks like staying under the 500 MB/month limit for the free plan shouldn't be too difficult, but as a backup I've ordered a second free plan sim to tack on another 200MB/month. Only 2G speeds so far, but for the price I'm not complaining!

You guys have been a huge help

I wont be using as a wifi hotspot i can use my phone for that
Ill be using my phone for nav too probably because the car always gives me the weirdest route

so its between freedompop and truphone, is freedompop only 2g?
i just buy directly off their website and put it in my car and thats it?

at quick glance this was the free option i see on freedompop site, thought it was supposed to be 500mb?
BASIC LTE 200
$0/month
200MB Per Month

thanks again

With my 2017 RS7, the best plan for me is the ATT 1GB 30 Days Auto Renewal for $10/month.

Its 4G LTE connection plus I don't need to be an existing ATT customer...its not a share mobile plan.

The OP has a MY2014. No 4G LTE and the Audi Connect plans pre-MY2016 are T-Mo 3G and completely different. See my last post.

What site, Freedompop? I've never used them bit I presume they will send a 3-in-1 sim with all three sizes. The Audi uses a nano sim.
