New A7 owner & new member to this forum. Can the experts in this forum share with me if the freedompop LTE sim will work in a 2014 A7? If not, any alternatives? I believe the freedompop site only offers LTE sims.

replying yo an older post but... it will step down to 3G. Its what I use, the Global LTE one.

It does indeed work with my 2012 A7. It downgrades to 3G.

Hello,

New owner of a 2018 Q5.
And new to this forum.

So if I'm reading this thread correctly, all I need to do is purchase a SIM card from either FreedomPop or a basic data only plan from any major carrier, and I should be able to have some basic functionality of the Audi Connect.
Is this correct?

The only thing that interests me regarding the Connect service is the Google Earth.

Also, my Q5 has the SIM slot in the glove box, but I can see that it's empty.
Does this mean that my car is using the eSIM?
If so, then if I put my own SIM into the slot, will the new SIM override the eSIM?

Thanks in advance and I hope to be coming to this forum a lot more...

I just did this last week on my CPO 2015. However I think you are out of luck because I think your 2018 is integrated now into the MMI and the glove box SIM is for something else. Others will confirm but I am pretty sure you can't get the Audi Connect stuff with a SIM in a 2018.

Which SIM are you using? The the 4G LTE data only SIM or the Global data only SIM?
