Black A7/Vossen CV3//H&R Springs/Stereo Mod

Finally getting closer to finishing my mods.

I added some Vossen CV3 Matte Silver Machine Wheels (20 x 10.5 all around), 285/30/20 Falken 453s (all around), H&R springs and a stereo mod with a JL 10W3 (2 Ohm) w/ 600 watt JL amp.

For those of you looking to lower your car, I had the sport package, which already lowered the car 10mm, from non-sport package. I measured the before and after from the center point of the wheel to the bottom of the wheel well. 15/15.375 (front/rear) before and 14.1875/14.1875 (front/rear) after. Drop was about .875/1.1875 (front/rear). Suprisingly, these numbers were closer to what H&R advertised and were not as low as aquarian's car. Go figure. So far, ride quality difference is about 10-15%ish. No rubbing whatsoever. Stance is looks mean, even these pics dont do the car justice.

Custom Sounds here in Austin built a custom fiber glass enclosure and managed to fit a 10" JL sub. Also put a bass control knob under the steering wheel. Stereo was mod was WAY better sounding than base, bose and B&O with no mods. No comparison!! Definitely the right decision.

Next up, painting the brake calipers black using a spray on epoxy primer to smooth out the imperfections, then spraying on some G2. Thought about powder coating them BUT apparently you need to disconnect several electronic connections to the brakes and if you have a shop try this without the Audi software that disables them, you will ruin the pistons in your brakes (setting you back about $3K). The shop quoted me $1000 bucks to powder coat them, which included rebuilding the calipers. Told them to go pound salt. Going the paint route.

Anyhow, here's some eye candy! Enjoy!

Car looks awesome! Can you comment on any reduction in body roll with the H&R springs?

Here you go. The color is off a bit in the pic but its the same as the interior.

tridentnyc, the roll is non-existent, espcially with the 285/30/20 tires and 30 offset. Also, I had a shop the tunes race cars do the alignment so that max traction is achieved, yet minimal tire wear. Alternatively, you can ask for a more negative camber setting, this will be even better, but it wears the heck out of your tires. Went for the happy medium.

Great to hear, thanks for the info! I'll assume that the body roll became non existent after the springs and that prior to the springs install you noticed some body roll prior?

I know it's an obvious question but I've been toying with installing the H&R's and want to make sure it'll help with the body roll issue I have in my A7. It's the only thing at this point I'm not 100% happy with in terms of the A7's performance.

Thanks!

Do you have the sport suspension?

I don't, I have the standard. When I test drove the sport suspension it felt a bit harsh to me and I knew I'd gain up some body roll not going sport. Happy with the ride, just want to tame the roll a bit.

Running on 19's as well.
