Thank you. The wheeIs are powder coated and the center caps are painted. I need to take some better pics with a real camera. I really like how the gloss black came out. I have done matte in the past but think the gloss was better for color of the car.

The fact that you've done both powder coat and paint is great info. Other than the look, can you tell me which of the two you prefer? Maybe with regards to durability, scratch resistance, easy to clean?

Thanks in advance for you feedback.

And the entire car looks fantastic. Very tastefully done!

I prefer powder coat on the wheels. I have done paint on the wheels in the past and in my experience powder coat last longer and seems to be much more durable with less chipping and scratching. The reason the center caps were painted was because they are plastic and with the powder coat process the parts powder coated are put in an oven and baked dry, the plastic would not withstand the heat. I have had wheels powder coated that look great after several years and thousand of miles on them. As far as cleaning, a good powder coated wheel and painted wheel that has been cleared clean up virtually the same. The big difference for me is the durability with the powder coat.

I painted my calipers in my garage. I used black caliper paint (bought it on e-bay)and found some decals on-line from a company in the UK.

Nice work jjA7! how do you keep your 10 spoke Audi wheels so pristine?

IMHO black wheels on a black A7 become a visual void. Wheels for a black A7 if not machined, should be a combo with some silver machined aspect for visual interest, just my 2 cents.

I have painted three cars, Volvo, Lexus and BMW with G2 and it works fine. It is a thick 2 part paint. The only thing is having the car on jack stands for 4-6 hours. Decals are all over Ebay and the ones I used for the Lexus after two years still look new. Newer calipers are easier to do as they are clean . I have some pictures somewhere.
