The A7 gets star treatment in the December 2013 Consumer Reports which lauds Audi with a huge move up four places to #4 in reliability among all brands.

The A7 is pictured across the width of the contents page and again in the reliability comparison article. In the luxury car class, the A7 is rated MUCH ABOVE AVERAGE in reliability, rare for German brands. It's beaten only by the A6 (4-cyl) at #1 and the Lexus LS at #2. The A6 (V6) is 8th.

Lexus, Toyota and Acura are ranked # 1-3 in overall brand reliability. Mercedes and BMW are in the middle of the pack at 13 and 15. The BMW 5 and 7 series are both below average in reliability with the Mercedes E-Class slightly above.

They also gave a great review of A7 TDI with a 95 total rating, surpassed only by the Tesla (which CR loves).

Wow, I didn't see that 95 point review. Was it only online??? Can't find it in print.

I drove the TDI and was impressed. Not ready to pull the trigger to buy since I think it would be hard to sell in all but the largest of markets. Tempting though . . .

I know I can't copy the entire piece here, but I'll include this one quote (hopefully permitted). "Combining luxury, sound driving dynamics, an impeccably furnished cabin, and that superior fuel economy, the A7 finished our testing with a score of 95, ranking among the best cars we've tested"

Also, I am fairly sure this is a very recent review, as I didn't see it on there 40 days ago when I was purchasing my car

Kudos to the A7. That is a lofty Test Score number.

In another segment, Consumer Reports also really liked the new Impala. At the time they reviewed it, it was their highest rated sedan with 95 points.
