if you look at the 2nd image. there are 2 on top, 2 on the bottom, 2 in the middle and 2 by the center by the audi ring on the grill. the after market should have just 8 holes. 4 on each side.
the middle section doesn't have to be tightened. as long you have the top, bottom and the side ones screwed into the grill.
as far as nightvision, i think on ebay they mention whether the grill supports night vision or not.

@shorttough - Thank you very much for your post. I just installed an RS7 grill on my wife's A7. I really did not want to take off the front bumper. After reading your post and looking at your pictures (and learning from your mistake) I was able to install the grill with no problem. This is definately the way remove the grill. Removing the bumper is not necessary. I had no problem reinstalling all the screws with the new grill.
Its my wife's car, so she required some bling...

Just to confirm, you were able to remove and reinstall all the screws properly, without any damage to the OEM RS7 grill or damage to the body? I'm thinking of doing the install this way myself, but wanted to confirm this first.
Also, are you seeing any bare metal spotting from rock chips, etc. where you spray painted the bumper?
