Dealer gave me quote to replace exhaust pipe for $1500 is that true price point ? I am confused should i go to dealer or repair it in local shop i know there is one shop that repairs imported/European vehicles. What you guys suggest ?

The exhaust is really simple and easy to work on. It's made to be removed to gain access to the drive shaft. Many people (like me) have replaced the stock exhaust with an aftermarket type. Some people sell them, some put them in the rafters of the garage.

Look around. You should be able to find one for a few hundred bucks.

I just replaced the exhaust on my 2014 A7 and I kept the stock system in case i ever wanted to put it back on or sell it. This exhaust will fit your car cause there was no change in it between those years. so let me know if you are interested
