I have a 2015 A7, totally stock. Whenever I'm in manual mode and shift up at around 5k, there's a slight flutter noise that I can hear if the windows are down. It sort of resembles a blowoff valve.

Doesn't sound like anything's broken, it's been there since I drove it off the dealer. I'm just curious if anyone on here might know what exactly that noise is?

Its possible the relief valve is worn, spring may be bad.

I have a 2012 3.0T supercharged. I experience the same sound shifting around 5k or even around 4k. Guys correct me if I am wrong but, it happens for the reason you assume, its the bypass valve. The superchargers boost is relative to your RPM and when you shift for that split second the engines RPMS lower because your entering the next gear, and while your transmission is shifting, all that extra boost which was built/building as your RPMS were increasing need to escape somewhere so the supercharger bypass valve opens.
