I see the four tabs on the bottom that fit into the T shaped slots. They may drop down into the slot or they may have a clip that secures them. You may be able to look down the back side of your grill to see how they're attached. If there's no clips, it could slide up to the tops on the T's to release.

It looks like the top side might pop out. Is that how it came off?

Yeah popping the top out once i figured it out was relatively easy.

Those bottom tabs though are a different story...

Was hoping someone out there has done this before but i guess not....

I'll try to analyze further in the morning.

I didn't know that there was a filler piece. A lot of people that covered over license plate holes could have replaced it.

Where did you find the filler? Does it look different than the stock A7 filler?

yeah when i took the license plate holder off the grill looks like it does in the first pic that i posted, has the holes and the horizontal line isn't complete. so you need to swap it out.

my brother who works for a high-end body shop ordered it from Audi. Its an OEM filler.

Just found out that you have to open hood and take off the engine bay cover then you reach down to release those big tabs.

I didn't notice the lack of trim when I looked at the picture the first time.

I couldn't find it on the E&G site. Glad you got it worked out. I learned a couple of new things along the way.

Can get the filler here:

I'm buying an out of state car with the front plate and the dealer bought this part and put it on for me. Now the front looks great.
