Has anybody lowered an A7 with 275/35/20's?
I went with 275/35/20's on my A7 instead of the 285/30's because I had no intention of lowering it. Now several people have convinced me to do it and since my dad owns a shop I can have it done in house with no labor cost.
I'd rather not replace tires with 5k miles on them though. I'd rather a 250-300 spring expense not transform into a 1800 spring and tire expense.
Any feedback or experiences is appreciated.

When I replace tires I will go with the 285/30, but until then I'm looking for anyone who might have lowered on the 275/35 that has some feedback.

The 275/35/20's are listed as a replacement t size for this car.the 285/30/20 is often recommended but is shorter than the factory tire.

You are correct it is shorter but closer to specs than the 275.
I really don't think Audi reprogrammed the ECU to compensate the 1% bigger wheel of the 265, and the other two sizes are exactly the same.

I lowered my car and I had 285/30/20 with falken tires. Hated the ride quality and went to 285/35/20 michelin pilot super sports and it drove much better..........as long as I drove in a straight line on perfect roads....impossible. Basically it rubbed like every 2 secs. So I went back to 285/30/20 but on the michelin and my ride quality was excellent. When the car was lowered the lower profile of the 30 sidewall aspect ratio looked better. The 35 sidewall aspect ratio made the car look a little "offroadish", no joke. You really dont notice this until you lower it. That said, you might rub with 275/35/20s. Do a comparison with what is known to rub (285/35/20) vs what I have now and what you have. You will see that you are cutting it close. I only know one member with a lowered cat (h&r springs) that has the 275 setup. Cant remeber is name but hes from Norway. Good luck.

Correction, it wasnt Audi.A7.Norway who had the 275/35/20s, I believe it was you who mentioned it in the same thread so I confused the two. Anyhow......check the specs

hello there,
I recently bought an A7. I'm trying to put Vossen CV5 20" wheels on it. I was wondering if I should go with 285/35/20 or 285/30/20 tires. My car is not lowered or anything. I want a little smooth ride with 285/35/20 but then wondering if I have fender rubbing problems. I currently have 19" factory wheels with 255/40/19 size tires and ride is pretty smooth.
Thanks for your help in advance!

That looks really nice! I just got off the phone with the guy who told me not to go with 285/35. I'll have rubbing issue and what not, he added. I should be getting my vossen CV5 wheels this Friday and i have to decide what tire size and brand I want to put on. Do you think 285/30/20 is a good size on wheels that are 10.5" wide all around ? I'm thinking of putting Hankook tires on them.
Thanks!
