Do you need an attachment to hook into vehicle?
Is it pretty simple to use for someone who is not a programmer?
Thanks
I have the Ross Tech cable. I don't know the other models and which one to get. I would guess that you take a look at what they do and compare it to what you want it to do. The Ross Tech cable does everything and can cripple your car if you change something that you shouldn't be changing. There are many threads and sites about things that can be changed. Read up, go slow, follow instructions and you'll be fine. Follow the directions of others that have done the common changes. Mostly it's checking boxes or changing a number. No need to learn code. I do know that there's something called "bootlogger" that you don't want to mess with.

All scanners and cables attach to the car through the OBD (On Board Diagnosis) port which is always located near the steering wheel on all cars. The C7 port is above the foot rest pedal. You might need a flashlight to see it's location, orientation and angle.

The are pdf's titled "Vag-com for Dummies" and another "VAG-COM - An Introduction and Simple Task version 2.0". I have them but don't know how to post them. Both files are from the A5 section.

edit: After some poking around, I located where I found the links. It's a A5 site...

OBDeleven is far better for the price and easier and more straightforward to use with your smartphone.

Default obd

From what I read to change steering wheel level, time on heated seats, etc you only need base obd not the pro, is that correct?
They don't seem to have any place to contact them, e mail or telephone, so no tech support, correct?

No. It is an Android only app (as of today).

If you do the binary coding, basic will do.

There is definitely ways to contact them, they do have tech support and are (from my experience) very responsive.
