Most of the earlier speculation had the Gran Coupe coming in at significantly less than the coupe, but I'm not so sure anymore...
Edit: Even more pics here. WTF is going on with the inside of the trunk??

I was just wondering what it would be like to compare the latest 5 series with the 6 series GC, I was curious to see what they looked like in side profile.
This not a scientific test as I have approximated the sizes of the cars bit I think the pics are close in scale, but the 5 series is just a touch longer than the current 6 series coupe and I would assume the GC is slightly longer in the wheel base than the 2 door coupe. Now when you look at both cars from the B pillar back, the profiles are almost identical but with the 5 series having slightly more bulk around the rear pillar and the 6 series has a lower roofline. Looking at the interior and trunk pics of the GC, it looks like BMW has compromised trunk space by providing lots of leg room in the back seats. Not a bad thing, but this is classed as a touring coupe and I am not convinced that you would get four people and their luggage in that boot!, also the 2012 A7 now has the fifth seat and so is slightly more practical and of course has a cavernous trunk area, especially with the seats down.
Now when you compare the A7 with the GC, I wonder which one I prefer LOL, I am guessing that both of these cars will be about the same length (A7 is 4970mm) but the side profiles couldn't be anymore different. Also in this pic you can clearly see that the GC's cabin is set back from the A7s which is why I guess the GC's trunk is compromised somewhat.
Based on the negative feedback that BMW received with the 5 series GT, I reckon BMW has decided to play safe with the design of the 6 GC. It looks elegant enough but is it really a 'stand out' design, I don't think so. Will the GC age alot quicker than the A7, yes I believe it will. Would be interested in your opinions on this
