I can't drive 155
Howdy All
So I know our US cars are Audi limited to approx 130 as I confirmed upon driving "Wolfie" home from lovely Corrollington, Texas on a long straight middle of nowhere (redundant?) road. I've read tons of threads since getting him in May. anyway I've read that you can send your car computer to some guy who will change it so you have Euro spec speed ( not happening ) also read that just under that computer is a plug in connector that once disconnected= who knows how fast. So question is if one was to do that mod of disabling the limiter ...do you go faster quicker or are just able to keep climbing higher on the speedo?

Not sure why you are limited to 130, most German cars are set for 155. I can also tell you that this is not a "mandatory" limit, it is a voluntary thing that most German car manufacturers set. However, I can say that my S7 will definitely go beyond the 155 limit. I am not alone in this. Tiff Nedel tested an S7 a few years ago and commented that 155 was left behind 15 MPH ago and that was with 4 people in the car.

I think this limiting of speed has to do with the tires that came on the car.
If the car came with all season tires then the speed limit is set to 130.
Perhaps the OP can confirm what spec tires came on his car.....

That's correct, that's the main issue in that's what the stock all season tires max out at technically. Having said that, I have the APR tune and that eliminates any speed limiter, and yes, I do get to whatever speed much faster

The NA A6/7 is limited to 130mph because of the tyre speed ratings. My A7 hits the limiter at an indicated 129 mph and doesn’t do anymore no matter what (My A4 and SQ5 are limited at 130mph and do an indicated 130mph).
The only way to get rid of the limiter is to remap the ECU but the C7.5 cars don’t have a remap yet is what I believe (I could be wrong since I plan on keeping my A7 and SQ5 stock and tinker in my A4 instead).
