Hey Guys,

Has anyone else experienced a burning smell when pushing the car hard. I only smell it when i'm driving hard and strictly acceleration(no braking). The smell is more prevalent when using the paddle shift manual mode. Just curious if this has happened to anyone else as I cannot find a leak that may be landing on hot engine parts.

What engine / gearbox combination ?

I have the 3.0 TFSI drivetrain with the 8 speed transmission , I don't remember the exact model of the transmission. Thanks!

If it's a new car, it could be oils and dust burning off of the exhaust headers.

It's a 2012, that I have had for about 4 years now. Honestly, the car always had the smell since I bought it. I assumed it was just because I was driving it hard, Catalytic converter maybe?

Mine does the same thing. I only notice it when using the paddle shifters on spirited drives after a few minutes of shifting both up and down through the gearbox. I am hoping it's "normal" as I pretty much know it's the tranny fluid I am smelling.
