New A7 TDI owner. Front license plate options
Hello Everyone,
I just purchased a 2014 A7 TDI prestige a month ago and I am loving this car! I also loved receiving a check from Audi and Bosch for the diesel emissions scandal. It's too bad that Audi won't be making any more diesels because I love this engine. I also own a 2017 Q7 for the family car, but being a heavy SUV, it doesn't have the same immediate throttle response that I get from the this beauty.
I should be getting my license plates in the mail this week. I live in Texas which is a front plate mandatory state. What are the most attractive options for mounting the license plate? Is there an OEM option that looks clean. The front of this car looks really good without a plate, so I'm tempted to see how long I can go before I get pulled over.
Anyway, I'm super happy with this car and hope that it lasts a very long time. I look forward to contributing to this forum.

The new A8 starts out in the German market with two extensively reengineered V6 turbo
engines: a 3.0 TDI and a 3.0 TFSI. The diesel develops 210 kW (286 hp), and the gasoline
version 250 kW (340 hp).
Two eight-cylinder versions – a 4.0 TDI with 320 kW (435 hp) and a 4.0 TFSI with 338 kW (460 hp) – will follow slightly later. The exclusive top engine version is the
W12 with a displacement of 6.0 liters. (These vehicles are not yet on sale. They do not yet have type approval and are therefore not subject to Directive 1999/94/EC.)

I live in Texas and have not had a front plate on a car in many years. I've only been pulled over once just for that and he just gave me a verbal warning. I actually had the dealer swap my front grill on both A7s I've bought for the grill that is not made for a front plate. The A7 is the only car I've ever heard of that has two grills. One for a plate and one not. If yours is made for a front plate you have a problem.
