Maybe in some parts of the world. Different regions get different things. I heard that the USA S6/S7's are getting a high-performance V6.

No, it will be the 2.9 TT V6 in every market. Only the A8/Q7 (and Porsche Panamera, and perhaps the new Porsche Cayenne) get Audi's 4.0 TDI V8.

So had to remove the V8 TDI's electric compressor, as that requires lots of current - you can see how well the SQ7 gets off the line. I'm not a big fan of diesel, but the Audi V8 TDI's are excellent. Heavy, but huge torque and they sound good. I can understand why the OP was interested in one.

As the new C8 series does have a full 48v system, there is chance that Audi will release a high performance version of the 3.0TDI running an electric compressor in conjunction with turbocharging. They built a prototype a few years back.
