Service due warning

I have a service due warning on my new to me 2012. I bought it with $75k and know the 75k was done as well as oil. I'm only at 78500 now and see the next service should be at 85k, not 80K. Is there some "daily" service thing required that this would pop up so fast?

I should state I also got an email from the local Audi about service due? Is it possible the thing was never reset right? It did have 5000/"x # of days" when I bought it.

Dave, the dealer may not have reset the messaging system.

I was thinking the same. I'll reset it today. Thank you.

how to rest it.?
I had my oil changed and then I reset the oil life indicator that now gives me the oil life reminder in accurate time but... the service indicator notification remains on and i cant figure how to rest that as it doesn't toggle to a reset screen or option?

You need OBDeleven or another programmer like Vagcom.

Your dealer can reset it really quick

On this topic.. I'm at 52,500 miles on my 2017 TDI and the "Service Now" has come on because the "service in X days" ran out. Besides a bit of an annoyance, whats the groups view about driving it another thousand miles or so before taking it in for the official 55,000 service? Seems that just because its been sitting in the garage for a year and I didn't get 10k miles on it isn't a great reason to cut the service interval short.

Comments?

The theory is that the oil deteriorates over time, even if the car isn't in use, so it is suggested that you change it .
